Completed Skyline 2000RS [DR30 Early Ver.]

Hi,
Finished Tamiya Skyline 2000RS on the last day of 2006.
Body paint is Finisher's pure red and pure black. selfmade decals on body side.
Wheel is Fujimi Watanabe 15", changed seats which are copied from Studio 27 Recaro, steering wheel, exhaust tip and brake disks.

Fantastic work! I have admit that your work has produced one of the most realistic representation of a real car I have ever seen here on AF. The paint, I just can't take my eyes off of it!

I hate it, I think it's ugly, the paint is horrible, and it just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever.

now in opposite world that would hold true, but since this is not opposite world, you should know that you did a fantastic job, and I applaud your effort to make such a lacking kit into such a masterpiece! I'm ordering mine today!

In some photos it looks so real. Great paint job and also very good photography with the lighting etc.

Looks great Kunta.I like the way you have painted the wheel centre gold and used gold lettering on the side of the car.It ties it together really nicely.The finish looks flawless,like glass.You really know how to use those Finishers paints!!:thumbsup:

This is really cool. A friend who was a U.S. Marine was just telling me that a DR30 was the first turbo car he ever drove, and he was hooked then and there.

As always, your work is super clean, all around. The antenna is a sharp little detail. Wish I could get a better peek at the interior... ;)

My Cousin on his dodge neon srt4. Custom rims, Body kits and spoiler and Silver paint with 2 black stripes going down the middle. O! and a stage 2 turbo. lol
they do look kinda different though.

Happy New Years to you too, Kunta. What a way to end 2006 with a masterpiece like this. Simply put, one of the most realistic models I have ever seen. I still have to scratch my head on how you take a model and turn it into an artform.

Unbelievable finish..... I use Finishers paints too. What's your secret ? What pressure do you spray at, and do you clearcoat ? If so what with ? This is just too good !!

I always apply paint with over 3.0 bar and yes, apply clearcoat(Finisher's Auto Clear) either.

Thanks for that - Is that the one or two part Auto Clear ? They do a single part clear with thinner, and a 2 part one (which I assume is an Iso-Cyanate...)
