Right now, I have dual Profile 700W Mono amps, that put out 200W RMS@4ohms and 350W RMS@2ohms. I have sony xplods running on them right now, but they're SVC so they're only getting 200W whereas their RMS is 380. Not cool >:(
I see Lanzar is rated as average. I can get a pair of these for $125 off of ebay. Is it worth it? I don't want any high-end crap, I don't have much money to work with.

Um no lanzar is one of the less average brands, and i wouldnt trust sony's power ratings for crap.
As for the power rating system you dont have to run rms power to get good sound, of course your system will sound better closer to rms but if you run cheap equipment with cheap install components such as prefab enclosures, cheap HU's, and cheap wiring it really doesnt matter at that point.
What are you looking for out of your setup, you might be better of keeping the sony's and getting some good speakers up front, or spending more and getting a really good set of subs rather than something to compensate for power. Look into the infinity perfects, kicker CVR, alpine type-r's, ascendant audio. http://www.ascendantaudio.com/assassin12specs.html
Those would be perfect, also it depends on what your after, you could switch to a single 15" and get even more output.

I just want loud, hard bass to not sound like s*it anymore. I'm almost positive it's because the sonys are only running at half power, but I can't squeeze anymore out of them since they're svc, so I have my gains set up high to compensate. Works for the hard-hitting bass, but any softer bass and it sounds like pure shiat. It'd be nice if I could push out 350w on each sony sub, but since they're svc that isn't possible from what I've been told.

if you want a cheap, simple setup, just stick with a budget amp that has close to truthful power ratings and a decent reputation, such as Profile or HiFonics. I'd steer clear from the crap companies like lanzar, lightning, power acoustik, soundstorm, and sony.
edit: sorry, misread the question, ur looking for subs, not amps...
really, just stay away from the crap companies aformentioned. pimprolla has the right idea, reputable mainstream companies such as mtx and infinity are decent enough, maybe not cheap though. alpine and kicker might even be pricier.

Thats why i like the assasin for 90 each.
Oh yeah being svc doesnt matter the VC are for wiring options. Im suprised you havent blown the sony subs yet. But the power ratings dont have to be exact that 200 would sound so much louder on a set of infinity subs mainly due to quality over sony, and the assasins are even higher quality than infinity, alpine and kicker. But thats also a different kind of sub. My best suggestion would be to get something from mtx if you want bass and dont have a lot of money. Also like i stated a single 15 bridged on that amp can destroy the output of most dual 12" setups.

I understand the assasin's might be higher quality, but each assasin would only draw off 200w off of each amp, whereas the rms@2ohms for my amp is 350w, so if the assasins were dvc, then we'd be in business.
And as for a 15" sub, well now we're talking about trunk space :banghead:

While we're on the subject of 15" subs, however...
I've found many MA audio 15" subs on ebay. However the listings state a MINIMUM of 450W RMS. Each of my amps can only put out 350W@2ohms.
What exactly is minimum supposed to mean? Are they trying to say if I put out less than 450W that the subs might become damaged or something?

You might not get the stated performance if you use less than that. Just port it and you should be cool. you can get away with less power in a ported box. I just got an infinity kappa perfect 10" for like $75 and it sounds great in a .64 sealed box with a hifonics amp. you dont need to spend alot to get good sound. but youre never going to get there with those cheap ass brands. ascendant audio really is a steal if you can get one. infinity and alpine are good enough for most people and not too expensive.

Don't know if crutchfield.com is still having the blowout sale, but I got 2 Kicker Comp CVR DVCs for $150, you can get 2 10s (kicker or infinity), or 2 12s for around 100-130 if the sale is still going on...buy one get one free!

Okay, that sale is over, but you can get Rockford Fosgates price range:
Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1 (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RseRnPYRJ9c/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?I=575p112s4&wm=cl)
12" 4-ohm Component Subwoofer
71.99-TWO FOR 107.98
you can get two 10" for 89.98, once again Stage 1, the stage twos start at 79.99 for the 10" and 89.99 for the 12"

While that is good, my goal is to get a 2 ohm load on each of my two amps, so they output 350w rms, meaning I would need either a 2-ohm svc or 4-ohm dvc that can handle 350w rms.

We understand your trying to get more output but you dont need full wattage to a sub to get full potential, which is reason i posted the assasins, i have a set of there atlas subs which are the pretty much the same sub just a little different, doesnt have the newer VC and everything. I had it free air no enclosure with about 100 watts and it put out close to the same amount of bass as my current 2-12"setup.
If you really want to to get that last little bit out then i would suggest a dvc set of the infinity perfects, alpine type-r/s, or a set of mtx 5500-6000 series subs.
And anything rockford other than there power series blows.

NO! I've heard a lot of complaints about them and they're not all that great for the price. I would go with kicker comps or Rockford Fosgate PUNCH. The only thing that I can vouch for when it comes to Lanzar is their amps. For the price Lanzar makes fairly good amps, especially since ur on a tight budget. You can get a pair of kicker comps for about the same price and get much better sound quality... and better product quality.

i was dissin the Lanzar subs..haha a couple friends of mine have lanzar amps just because of their budget and they have no complaints. If you've got the money for something better then yeah they suck but if you've got 120 bucks and need a 1200 watt amp, what would u suggest?

If you chose a crappy amp, and crappy subs, then you're gonna sound crappy, plain as day. Save your money and do it right the first time. Those subs won't hold 1200W RMS, I personally choose Kicker amps, damn good if you can foot the bill, I paid $209 for my ZX550.2! But check the RMS rating on the subs, and the RMS ratings on the amp you choose, as has been posted though, you pay for what you get in car audio.

It be nice if it actually pushed the full 1200 they are lucky to push closer to 300 rms. IF your on a budget hifonics or profile. But there is no way in hell any amp for 120 will push more than 800 true rms watts.
Also kickers good but its not worth the extra 100 for a name on an amp, if you can get a profile amp that does the same power as the kicker the profile seems to be a better choice, i dont ahve anything against kicker but they are way over priced for anything.

Ok then. you've proved me wrong.
When it comes to kicker. I wont buy their amps. Like you said...WAY over priced but ive found that their sub and speaker prices are coming way down and you can get 12" L7s for 200 bucks. I have a very diverse system (Ive got an Eclipse head unit, pioneer speakers, a kenwood amp and kicker subs.) . Nothing matches so i cant side with one piece of it, but the subs have exceeded my expectations especially because im EASILY pushing 450w/rms to my two 10" L7s. And im about to add another amp on top of the one i already have.

So, you're looking for an amp that will push at least 300RMS, that should help you out a bit, www.zigiboom.com (http://www.zigiboom.com) has a Alpine Mono amp that puts out 400W RMS, that would power both of them, it's $188, You could probably jump down to 250WRMS for $125, or from www.crutchfield.com (http://www.crutchfield.com), you can get a Profile that puts out 350W RMS for $130...all of those are MONO amps...
Message me on AOL or something within the next hour or so: Jtvyper456 and i'll help you out where I can.
