HD Radio

Why is it that HD Radio cost so much? It isn't Satellite, so why is it cost so much.

because it's a new function that they are only putting on their top 2 or 3 headunits. I have heard the hype, I think it's digital radio ... I need to find a no BS site to read up on it.
