As promised. I took some new daytime pictures for several members because the ones from last night were kinda dark. Here goes. Hope you guys don't mind me starting another thread on this thing, but the other thread had a bit of pictures and I thought would take too long to load on some computers(like mine-still using dial up). What do you guys/gals think of these pics now?
Here goes-Walter

My final thoughts on this kit are:
1-steering wheel doesn't sit centered with driver's seat
2-Wheels are inaccurate. the rear wheel should be deeper in the center and the spokes could have been better shaped
3-Revell caught the overall style/shape pretty well when compared to Tamiya's
4-nice decal detail on the radio console
5-No suspension detail(gets completely covered anyways)
6-Oh, I forgot this one. BRAKE detail should be better. Too small and no drilled rotors. Missing second caliper on rear brakes, but caliper detail is decent.
7-Missing shifter paddles and T-handle shifter too big. Scratchbuilt these items.
8-I'd give it a 8/10 whereas Tamiya would get a 10/10. Pretty close IMO at half the price! Some may give lower based on these details, but I have to refine Tamiya's stuff sometimes t my liking. One thing that bothered me about the Tamiya 360 is the lack of a shifter! Just a small nub of some sort.

I can see the areas where this kit falls short of Tamiya, but you did a superb job on it and most people would never know the difference. Considering the kit can be had for 1/2 to 1/3 the Tamiya price, it's a bargain. I want to do a customized Spider w/aftermarket rims, so maybe this is the way to go-I know where I can get the kit locally for about $13.00, the best I can get on a Tamiya is more than double that. Tough decision, especially when I see how good the Revell looks w/a bit of TLC.

Looks absolutely awesome! I guess I'll just have to come to grips that not all Ferraris are red...

Wow, you did such a great job! It's great to see people taking up the challenge of fixing mistakes and making the car look even better. Everything is so detailed, it's great. And as snowboarder said it looks even better since it's something besides red.

Yes...Enzo may be rolling over in his grave but I'm certainly on a mission of my own to build Ferraris in colors other than bright red. I've yet to see a modern Ferrari that I felt looked best in red, the metallics really have a way of showing off the lovely curves, the black ones look downright sinister, the white ones are so cool, and the yellow ones scream "hey look at ME" even more than red. Looking at a red Modena in a showroom next to a platinum one, the red one looked like it was injection molded plastic. Same thing happened w/me looking at a pair of F355's. That said, my extra Modena coupe might end up in the traditional darker red (Rosso Corsa?) which would look mighty tasty on that car.

I've been a fan of Ferrari forever, and use to think they had to be red. Some of the older cars look fine in red because most were smooth bodied. The worst looking new Ferrari in red is the Modena, red totally kills all the lines and emotion in that design. Somehow, yellow looks pretty good on it as well as black and white.:p

Hey all, I got another one of these kits today for $5.00 U.S. It was a returned item that some kid took back because of the front tires being missing. When I opened the box the tire bag was ripped open. Hmmm..... I don't know if he was totally honest, but i scored on this thing as the retail is about $20.00 U.S. and the other bags are sealed and the kit was complete except for 2 front tires.
Here's an idea. If you guys go to your local shop and ask if they have any kits with damaged of missing parts, they may sell it to you at a big (50-75% off) discount. You can just it for parts or in my case just use aftermarket wheels adn you'll have a complete kit.

you lucky duck you... i doubt my local hobby shop would be so kind. they wouldnt take an open kit back if a kid brought it back in the first place. still, after seeing your beautiful work on that modena, i definitely wouldnt mind trying the kit out. i think you've changed alot of people's preceptions on revell with that car. myself included.

Absoulty true, especially for the new F430. Cant show all the lines and the flow of the design. The body colour on my sig's F430 is the best to show all hard work from Pininfarina.
