Transmission Question

I have a 1992 Crown Vic with a 4.6 I also have a 1994 Crown vic with a 4.6
I wrecked the 94 and took the motor and trans out of it and put it in the 92
everything went fine till we went to hook up the electrical side of the trans and it was different. I was told that the 92 car was a manual shift and the 94 is a computer shift does anyone know how to make the 94 trans work in the 92. :banghead:

You are looking at changing the wiring harness and ecm. The OD off button can be placed anywhere if you don't want to change the shifter. When all of that is done, you might also need a speedo out of a 94 since both cars have a different
speedo pulse rate and the 92 does not have a od light.

When you say change the wiring harness are you talking about the section under the hood hooked to the computer or the dash wiring harness?

Yup that would be it. The EOD transmission is monitored by the ecm and it will need to be replaced with the one out of the 94 also. You will also need to swap out the speedo cluster due to a differance in speedo pulse rate. You might also want to change the gear shifter unless you have no need to turn off your OD.
