I have a 1995 impreza with a very reliable 1.8lt. But it sucks trying to climb the hills of Colorado in this thing. Does anyone know if the turbo and manifolds from the wrx will bolt up to this engine? And if not, is there anything i can do to keep from getting blown away by freakin Saturns? Any help would be appreciated very much.

I doubt parts from the WRX are interchangeable with the 1.8 liter. I will let someone correct if I am wrong on that.

But what you can do is the standard
cold air intake or K&N filter
better spark plugs, better spark plug wires (increase their gap)
High flow catalytic converter
High Flow muffler
Synthetic motor oil
advance your timing just short of pinging (pinking)

If you have your car dyno tuned that would probably help

Make sure that you have clean injectors.

As your mechanic to make sure that your throttle linkage has no play in it, so that when your foot is all the way down on the LOUD pedal, that throttle is all the way open.

Lighter wheels will help you accelerate quicker.

engine swaps can be done.
but it's a LOT of work.

engine, mapping unit, exhausts, complete drivetrain, cross member.....
you will likely spend $5-7K in doing so.... and you'd best have it done professionally or risk detonation....

my b/f just put a 2.0T into his 95 1.8 Impreza....
so it can be done.... but you need to ensure it's done properly.

cheers
