If I am understanding the question right, boxing week is the week after christmas, traditionally boxing day is the day after christmas alone.
Boxing week sales are the same as post Christmas sales in the US.

Gotta love retailers. Who else can take a simple holiday and turn it into something big like George Washington's birthday(President's Day sales), Columbus Day sales, etc. Now I've noticed a bigger emphasis on Veteran's Day sales within the last couple of years, and some veterans aren't too happy about it, ( I guess any excuse to have a sale.). What's next "Pearl Harbor Day sales"???

I doubt any other country has this, but I HATE Sweetest Day. I don't even know when it is, but I know that I had never heard of it til high school when my gf at the time asked what I wanted. I told her nothin cause it was a made up ass holiday created to sell cards and candy.

I've heard of it before too. I think I even saw it listed on a calendar a few years back. Here is a link with more info about it:http://www.theromantic.com/sweetestday.htm Yeah it does seem to have been created to sell more candy:lol: It's more popular here in the Northeast and Great Lakes states area.
