ok i think i have my subs wire in to parallel which is what i want. but i want to make sure.
i have the jumper connect a + and- leaving the a + on the far left and a - on the far right then with the, connecting to the 1 channel amp that should be parallel right.
oh this is for dvc 2 ohm version type r

couldn't understand what you just described, but both your + should be connected to the + on the amp, both - connected to the - on the amp.

If all else fails, www.rockfordfosgate.com (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com) and check the wiring diagrams!

If youre trying to get a 1 ohm load then you should have the two negative on both coils connected then connected to the neg on the amp. the same with the positive.

um that would give me a .5 ohm load, 2 ohm dvc. the jumper is on + and - in the middle and the amp is feeding the + and - on the outside

one dvc 2 ohm sub or two dvc 2 ohm subs?
what jumper?
what jumper?

There are no jumpers in a parallel setup only in series, in parallel the wires whould go pos-pos to the amp pos and neg-neg to the amp neg. This will net 1 ohm load on DVC. IF you add the other in then it goes to .5ohm.
use this it even shows how the wires should be on the sub.

Wire is just like the diagram looks like and you'll get the power load it states.

theres 2 dvc 2ohm ones

What amp do you have, depending on the model and brand you should be able to hook it up. Unless its 1ohm mono block.

Octane R 15.0:1 isn't there a way i can just hook up a dmm to it and see the ohm value it is showing?

Wow that amps only 2-ohm stable, your only option is to get it to 8-ohms, unles you want to put down for a new amp.
You could try and check it with a DMM cause even when they say there 4-ohm its never a perfect 4-ohm its sometimes 3.66 same with all other ohm ratings. But if possible id suggest either a different amp or sub if theres a return policy on them, if not we can see what can be done to make it work. also is it for a single sub or 2. If you go 4 ohm if you have a single then you should be in the realm of about 325 rms.

NO ... that's series wiring. If you want parrallel, you need a "jumper" between the 2 +'s AND the 2 -'s on EACH speaker. Unfortunately, you have dual 2 ohm VC's. Each speaker can be wired to be a 1 ohm or 4 ohm, the amp has a pair of outputs that are wired in parrallel already, so it will see a 1/2 ohm load if the speakers are wired in parrallel or 2 ohms if the speakers are wired in series.

I think I need to get off my arse and do diagrams for every conceivable speaker and amp configuration to show the final impedances and put it in the newbie post. Might save a lot of questions. I have been reading up to learn all I can about this SPL stuff cuz I am gonna try my hand at SPL too this year along with sound quality.

ok so that WILL be a 2 ohm load though? cause that is what i wanted. i just assumed it was parrell cause i saw on some sites that you can get an 8 ohm wiring with those. so i assumed the 8 ohm was series, the 2 ohm parallel, and the .5 series-parallel. so i had the 2 ohm and .5 load names mixed up.

now will this give me a 2 ohm load
that is a 2 ohm load, the coils are wired in series, subs in paralell.

cool. now would that be the same if that did not have 2 outputs?

it would be different if it DID have two outputs that were separate channels. the two outputs on your mono amp are summed together inside the amp. you just have two outputs on the outside so you can do exacltly what you did; parallel the subs without stuffing two wires under one screw.

ok cool, thanks
