This is my English project that i did another chameleon paint job on. (Im a 16 year old Sophmore in Highschool)
The assignment was to choose one word that best represents your personality and decorate the first letter of that word. (I of course knew i was going to do "Gearhead" as soon as the teacher told us wat the assignment was).
If u look closely, you can see the shape of the letter "G". i made it look like the shape of a car, with the front bumper, spoiler, and rear bumper all integrated into the shape of the letter "G".

Always wondered if those kits worked.
Got the high res version of those pics? Can you take pics in a brighter lit area? From different angles? Might be cool for some painting backgrounds...

Only 2mp? Ow.... Better than most cell phone cameras at least :D
I've seen those kits before but I never could think of anything I felt like painting... if you want a cheap way to reproduce it in small quantities, get chameleon fingernail polish (might want to take a lady friend along so you dont get funny looks). Thin it, and spray it with an airbrush. I've never tried it but I hear it works wonders and is dirt cheap in the long run. Works with just about any fingernail polish...
O' what neat tricks I learned back in the days of building model cars....

Hm, interesting. That almost makes me want to paint my valve cover like that, I wonder if its a high temp paint. Autozone has some suprisingly decent spray paints. I've already painted my wheels, taillights, and valve with some Autozone stuff.

thanx...altho i dont know if this "rattle can" paint kit would be good enough for a car. i think this kit is mainly intended for plastics.

I picked up that tidbit from back when BMC was young... I heard some pretty funny stories of guys getting funny looks while buying huge quantities of nail polish.

yeah, they sell that kit at autozone. i did it to small plastic pieces, came out ok, but your whole car would cost alot for a not so great finish.

believe it or not, its a factory spec paint job....was a Specail Edition of only 300 afaik...
main colours are from Purple to Green, but its said to be able to show 7 different colours depending on the type of light shining on it and the angle you view it at...
green, purple, bronze, blue, red, brown, gold are ones I can remember
same car, different angle you can see more of a bluey colour..

sterling = United Kingdom pounds sterling.
iirc the car was sold new for around £22k which at todays exchange rate would be around $42,640 USD.... I bought it 3 yrs old, at £8k .. approx $15,505 USD
