Fujimi quality???

Ive never built a fujima car,alot of you have,is the quality good or is gonna end up lookin like a toy?I've seen alot of the cars on hlj and i wanna build them but im a little scared it might be a waste of money,ive see the fujimi kits some of the pros here have built,but they're pros and im not,so if you've got any comments on how easy a fujimi kit is to a newbie,please tell me

a fujimi is a sort of japanese revell snaptite so it's easy for a newbie same as for a baby (:D )

and it depends on your painting skills if you do everything like the real one you gonna have a sweet looking model

Anything in their Enthusiast series is pretty good quality just a bit fiddly to build because of so many parts. I don't think I've built anything but Enthusiast stuff from them so I don't know about the rest. The Ford GT's are very nice curbside(no engine)models.

Fujimi kits are certainly lower class compared to Tamiya, I think. They build into nice curbside model for less money than Tamiya. Average Fujimi kits are easier to build since there's no engine. My personal order preference of kit brands are: Tamiya -> Fujimi -> Aoshima -> Revell/Monogram. I hate Revell/Monogram kits cuz they don't fit!!

I like Fujimi kits cuz they make lots of cars that I like to build and they turn out very nice with little effort.:smoka:

I think the quality of Fujimi kits is not very good. Comparing to Tamiya, it is very bad....

It's not fair to compare any kit to Tamiya kit. :D

Fujimi can be hit or miss. Some are fine, some have some.... ummm.. interesting challenges. ;)

Really it doesn't matter that much, since odds are Fujimi's the onle one that makes the car you want...

If it makes you feel any better, this MR2 was my first Fujimi kit, and it wasn't bad at all. I built it while I was still a dumb rookie at car models. It had some weird problems, like you could see in one side and out the other, but all in all it was a great kit. (sorry for blurry pics; they're old...)

I agree with this quote, tamiya kits are virtually untouchable for the money, but fujimi isn't all that bad. The one thing I have noticed is that the stock rims on most of their kits always seem to small, thar and the door panels on the interiors are just crap, no detail what so ever, but more often then not they build into nice kits, and the subject matter can't be beat. And to tell you the truth, Tamiya kits are starting to get almost to easy to build.

As Jay says, "Hit or Miss" describes the quality of Fujimi kits. The enthusiasts series are indeed designed by the enthusiasts of the Fujimi staff (they left later, and founded Rosso), so they are some of the best car model kits you can buy. Very time consuming to build, and some parts don't align so well due to excessive amount of detail parts, but if it's taken enough time, it can be built to a superb replica.
Most of non Enthusiast series (Inch Up, Real Sports, Auto Gallery) are curbside, so it doesn't includes the engine, but they're easy to build, and there are so many to choose from. Generally, when the tool is made for a new car, quality is good, but those variations of an existing kit are really painful to build.
It comes down to which car you want to build. I know someone should own or have built the one you have in your mind, so just ask for a brief review.

fujimi? well i seen some of u guys werk and also some models on display here at the mall here, i think fujimi lacks the tamiya quality, but then again, like u guys said, its not fair to compare both.

here, fujimi is much more expensive than tamiya.....even the new Tamiya 2001 WRC Impreza is cheaper than the tommy kaira M20B

Fujimi lacks the quality of a Tamiya kit as there detail is not as good.
But at the end of the day IMO it comes down to what you like and what you want to build. Any model can look good with some time and effort put into it.
As much as i dont like Revell kits either i'll still make one if that car really appeals to me at the time.
