caps 1 farad vs 2.4

so i got a 2400-watt amp (Lanzar) and a set of high-power subs to handle it. now i have to decide what cap to get as far as how much farad do i need for this high power setup is 1.2 okay or should i get 2.4 i want to get whatever will work well and protect my car's electrical system without spending money that i dont need to

please advise

I'm no Car Audio genius or anything, but I'd go with a 2.4, just because the Amp is so big, or just upgrade your alternator to a 200 amp ($200, Ebay), would be your best option.

are you going for sql or spl? spl= loud/ high db , sql = sound quality.

the reseaon being sql are the only ones that need a cap.

with a 2400 watt amp on the subs, I will guess this guy is a boomer. Caps do NOTHING for bass volume, although somethimes they can keep the lights from blinking with the bass real bad.

yeah, he would be a boomer, a 2400 watt lanzar amp to go with his 2000 watt pyle subs right? your amp probably only puts out a real 400 rms, if you are lucky. You don't need a cap or a h/o alternator.

if anything, just do the Big 3.
