13b motor

how hard is it to replace the motor for a 1990 rx7 ? where can i get a turbo 13b for it? possibly jdm-thanks

to answer the first question:
It depends on how mechanically inclined you are. If you've only put gas in your car and poured in wiper fluid, I'd say you will need alot of help or have a shop do it. If you've done stuff like a clutch install or done brakes its not going to be too bad.

to answer the second: try asking owners around your area for a motor or you can try engine warehouses. The JDM 13b turbo and USDM 13b turbo are exactly the same except that the writing on the intercooler is different, so get whatever version you prefer.

I found a JDM version that was cheap from a warehouse so i got it.

id say i know a fair bit about engines and im in a automotive class so i can use their facilities... i was also curious about cost???

One of my freinds on the net told me that a Mazda dealer can sell you a crate 13b turbo engine for 3000+ dollars.

make sure u get the matching tranny, ecu, ext.... i find it easier to get a turbo car rather than swapping. thats what i did in the longrun.

true but turbo 7s are pretty rare here lol how much would the turbo motor cost if i were to buy that, and what ecu wire harness should i get?

turbo motors near me average like $1500 with full engine and tranny

get the ecu and wiring harness that match the year of the engine

..oh i found a tII here (enid ok) how much would you say its worth, its in failly good condition needs paint, havent driven it yet but i should be able to look around for rust etc. in about a week

I can't say its worth anything right now because I need more information.
