i'm getting the off-season blues right now. i was just shopping around for a boat (rowing) because i want to row over the summer and it'd be nice to bring the boat up to the cottage and row alone every once in a while. anyways i really got to missing rowing, actually missing the early mornings.... sort of, missing being on the water early but not missing waking up at 4am. anyone else feeling this? anyone play sports that they actually miss during the off-season?

No, but i just get seasonal winter depression. WEll, i guess it's off season if you consider i can't ride my motorcycle, and other such things, but its the short cold days that get to me. I hate the cold.

haha the cold doesn't get to me, at least in the winter i can wear a coat and stuff, try rowing in sub zero weather wearing nothing but some spandex tights and a spandex unitard, getting splashed by your stroke seat, then tell me you're cold lol. but i wouldn't give it up for the world, there's a sort of high you get when you're getting a combination of waking up, endorphin high, the smell and sound of the water, the feel of the boat gliding through it, and seeing the sun come up with all the beautiful colours that you can't get anywhere else.

I row sweep but i want to learn to skull over the summer. i'd like to buy myself a single so that i can go up to the cottage a few days in a row (no pun intended) and row most of the day. right now i'm on the junior varsity team for my university but i'll be varsity next year.

I get the off season jitters from not being on the bike or in the water on a dive, but shortly after that ski season starts, and in the spring usually I can get on the bike, in the water and on the skis all in the same week, so I guess its fall that does it for me.

I can't get as drunk during the work week as I can on the weekends. Off season sucks.

haha i can get drunk for cheeper during the season. after a regatta it's so easy to get drunk, i get drunk off of nothing if i've raced that day. after the head of the trent (a 4.5km head race) we went and partied, it was their homecoming. well that day i raced 2 races, so i rowed over 18km (you have to row up to the start and race back), didn't drink many fluids, didn't eat much, so i was as dry as a bone. i decided i'd take it slow, so about 20-30 minutes after we got into the house i was piss drunk off of barely anything, oh well, costs less money.

Well i hate the water too, so cold + water = i'm not there. Hence why i could never be a SEAL.

I have several off-seasons... but during each I usually have something to keep me preoccupied.
I hate the summer because it's hot and I have to go ice skating indoors... but I get to ride my motorcycle...
I hate the winter because I can't ride my motorcycle (usually...)... but I get to go skiing (usually...) and ice skating outdoors.
Not that any of my hobbies keep me in good physical shape, but, yeah... Nevermind.

I hate the winter because I don't have a garage... doing much of anything with my car (main hobby for the time being) is close to impossible with short days and the cold combined... and I just hate being cold in general.
I love summer because I don't have as many school hours, I get to work more to make more money to use on whatever I want. I'm looking to buy a motorcycle soon and learning how to ride so that'll be yet another reason for me to hate cold weather :D

I ride horses, they need to be excercised year round no off season. Although mom does most of the riding. I have been riding more since we have access to a trailer at the barn so I've been loading the horse and going elsewhere in most cases when the urge hits. I rode more in the past two months then I have in the past couple years combined. I have even comptenplated starting up lessons at my old trainer's new place.
