Just wondering if this can be done, cause I am thinking of putting 6X9's into the back of my car, currently there are alpine 6 1/2's in there so it would be a little louder.
How does it look?
Is there any way to make it look stock so people dunno I got speakers?

I guess I must be cheap or something b/c I'm just going to get a sawz-all and cut them out to fit a pair of 6x9's in my rear deck.

Yeah your either going to have to cut the rear deck or make some sort of custom enclosure underneath it.

It is hard to put ANY sort of large or good speaker in the rear of a 4g4d. The torsion bars for the trunk are so close to the rear deck you have less than 2" of clearance. For a 6x9 that is almost 4" deep that is kind of hard.
I built MDF 3/4" spacer and carpeted it to match the deck then put a speaker grille cloth over the speaker. Looks stock hehe.

ah! I keep forgetting about those damn torsion bars... I could always pull them out and put an electric screw drive in, or an air cylinder... they probably wouldn't hold my wing up anyway (guess they are going bye-bye)
