Schwarzenegger Super Cows!

Anyone heard of this before? They're cows that have a muscle size controlling gene blocked so they have 2X the muscle. They're working on it for humans. I won't be able to fit in my car!

they had cows like that in holland where it happened naturally i believe. some genetic mutation that happened sometime and they've got huge cows.

I could see having more meat per carcass as a good thing (feed more people)... but for humans? Theres bound to be too many problems once we start modifying our own genes.

I would never knowingly eat meat from those cows. I can't imagine its much good anyway since it'd be so tough and chewy. Thats why we don't eat bulls. As for humans??? I see some "genetic mutation" everyday when I go to the gym

yeah this actually kinda scary. Im sure its only a matter of time before human beings get it. The great thing about this technology is that it can be used to regenerate muscle tissue that was once lost. Like if you get in a serious accident and your calf muscle gets destroyed, they can use this to rebuild you a new one.

Not to mention im sure the military is working on "super soldiers"

Seems pretty cool and pretty promising after reading about it a little bit.

Also from reading about it Im sold. As soon as it becomes available im throwing it in my supplement cabnet. Im already a pretty strong guy...the idea of doubling my muscle mass blows my mind.

meh i wouldn't touch it, i've got to stay light and strong to be a lightweight rower, more muscle would just weigh me down. not to mention that it would be illegal and banned from all sporting organizations.

I think I'll stick to my usual unaltered, all natural organic steaks...thanks. lol

If it makes my burger more tasty then its whatever, but I'd NEVERRRRRR resort to some kind of steroids of something. I'm content with the size of my johnson and I'd like it to stay the size it is now :)

yeah he claims to have gained an inch cause his balls look were smaller. Thats like saying if you have two ballons, and one of them losses some air, does that mean the other one got bigger?

As for the guy wanting to take it as a suppliment, not a chance this will ever happen, not to mention how horrible this would be for your body. First off the drug is going to be guarded like gold, its not gonna be something easy to get like steroids. Secondly, do you really think its gonna do anything good for you? Giant muscles arent always a good thing, sure you can make your muscles 2-3 times as strong as any other man, but do you think you can make your tendons that strong? Your joints that strong? Your brones that strong? No, its not going to, your going to suffer from more pulled joints, tendons, and broken bones that anyone can imagine. To get stronger, you need to strengthen alotmore than just your muscles. And if your taking this, your muscles are going to have a huge jump.

But like i said, your never going to be able to go to GNC and pick of some of it. And im sure taking it will eliminate you from pretty much every competition for the rest of your life. THis isnt like a steroid that has its effect and leaves. This is actual gene therapy, and i doubt you really understand how it works.

The only way we know of right now to attempt gene therapy is with a virus. We take a benin virus and alters its genes. Then introduce it into the patient. Im sure you know that once you get a virus its a perminent addition to your body, it permanently alters your DNA.

Cool drug, but for the average person its not gonna be something you want to use.

ummm no, a virus doesn't permanently alter your dna, you can fight off a virus, but you can't cure a virus. and as for the supplement thing, no matter how guarded it is, i'm sure all the pro-bodybuilders will be able to get their hands on it if they want. you can get anything if you really want. besides, why would you want to use it unless you're actually doing competitive bodybuilding? sure you're going to get more muscle but you'll be able to be stronger and lighter with proper training. more muscle doesn't mean stronger.

We arent talking about gene therapy here. What they are doing with the patients are introducing myostatin blocking agents into them. This is in no way permenant.

Once the myostatin blockers become commonly used for things like MD then drug companies from other countries will get the formula and then it will become easily available. Im not talking about in the next couple of months but in 5 years at the earliest.

Sure tendons and other tissues wont grow stronger as quickly as muscle but its not like your going to take this stuff once and become instantly twice as strong. You will still have to build muscle. What myostatin does is limits the ammount of muscle you can build.
