Alright this one is for all the 420a guys out there. I called a friend of mine to help me with my fog lights, by the way it sucks for all those who want to know. He brought his brothers 1st gen tsi out. Now i had some intention to race him in the first place so we finished the fog lights and headed to the highway.

1st Run standard 3.2.1 honk. I launch at 3 and murder him out of the hole.2nd still ahead. 3rd still ahead. 4th hes next to me and the middle he passes.

2nd Run 3.2.1 honk again. I screw my launch up bad stupid boots. shift 2nd i get by him. 3rd hes caught me. 4th hes gone.

Now im really happy with the way the my Talon went in this race. My mods are as follows. CAI, Some really nice gripping tires,msd coil,8.5 mm plug wires, and 2.5 inch catback exhaust.

Hes totally stock just to let you know.

Just wait till you are turbo...

yep turbo will make a huge difference.

Oh ive been dreaming and saving. By the way silvr what was your 1/4 mile time?

The damn track has closed for the year. I spent like 4 hrs getting my car ready to race and then I look on thier website and they just updated it saying they are closed. The weather is still like 60degrees here. They open back up in February so I will have them then.

That talon must have had some problems, because he should have killed you.

his launches were to hard from what i saw lots of tire spin. Mine spun a little but they grabbed hard when they caught it jumped out of the hole.

I agree with l_eclipse_l. That's impossible with those little mods unless the TSi had mad issues. Even with not hooking up right off the line properly, he still would have blown your doors off. I didn't see if it was FWD or AWD, but either way, he'd kill you long before 4th. I'm speaking from experience. I can beat a GST from a stop, and my mod list is larger. That was with my big rims and crappy, bald tires.

You have basicly the same mods I do except a larger exhaust system, which isn't going to give you more than 7-8 hp with your setup. And I normally get beat by anything over 180 hp to the crank, regardless of weight. You would be lucky to sit at 160 hp with your setup...

I agree. There was something wrong there.

I know its wrong that i stayed ahead so long but it still stands. I know he should beat me badly but he didnt until past 4th so maybe his turbo is just so warn out from its abused life or his bald shit tires are playing more of a role then he thinks. Oh and dave your question about AWD or FWD. Its a FWD.

Personally i think he launched it to hard and the turbo is just so weak.

I really didn't see too much of a point to this thread besides you thinking your 420a was faster than a 4g63... It can be certain that there is clearly a problem with the 4g63 and this thread no longer serves a purpose...
