Bye bye clutch

well I noticed a few weeks ago that my clutch was starting to slip when I would get on it a little...well I was on my home tonight and it said goodbye by barely letting me get up the kill...Now if I just give it gas on a flat it will slip like crazy. So it looks like im getting a new clucth, and since im tackling that I think well just throw a tranny rebuild in the mix haha. So any recomendations on clutches?

Without any major mods an OEM one will be fine.

Ive been looking around for a while now...I wanted to do something a a little more than oem just in case I end up doing something else to the stealth ( TT swap next year possible) so...whats the work on RPS?

I've heard good things about both ACT and RPS. I'd go for whichever one is cheaper I guess.

i got my southbend clutch 3 years ago. since i've abused it, and its still in the runnings. the clutch is really really quick though. as soon as you let up off of it(just barely), if your not giving it some gas its gonna stall

how many miles are on your tranny/car? unless you have grinding noises, its not worth a rebuid. a clutch job is easy, but taking apart the tranny and rebuilding it is a whole different story.

you can upgrade your NA clutch if you want, but its really not worth it. a lot of ppl do it b/c they think they need to, but its really just a waste of money. anything more than OEM quality is just overkill. but if you DO actually end up doing the TT conversion, then you WILL need a beefier clutch. so its a good thing that you're planning for the future, but just keep in mind what is necessary and what is extraneous.

I just rolled over 117k the other day w/ the origional clutch...Believe me my tranny is a fan of grinding, started in 3rd, then second, now third even shifting almost anytime...I ended up ordering the RPS clutch tonight so I can get it back on the road...The tranny rebuild is going to have to wait til the spring, because of $$$...Im not planning on tackling that myself though, im getting it built by a shop and then putting it back in.

synchro's grinding...just order some blocking rings and tell them to install them
i dont think there's any need to rebuild the whole thing
