starting problem 86 t-type

I charged the battery over night and all the lights were nice and bright. I put the key in and turned the radio and dash lights on and when I try to start it everything shuts off completely. It doesnt even try to turn over everything just dies instantly. Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like a bad battery connection or ground.

that was my brothers post. he says the battery was fully charged at that point.sounds like a short somewhere. starter motor .asuuming its not the batterey, where do i take it from here? thanks for the help
