Idle/Brake

I have a 94 grand prix with a 3.4 engine. For the past year if have had problems with the idle jumping up to 3000 and down to 1000. After the car warmed up, the problem went away. Last night I went to start my car and it would barely run. It seemed like the car was choking and the break pedal is hard. Any thoughts?

At this point look for a major vacuum leak, also check fuel pressure.
