I got a problem, I wrecked my one 90 eclipse, (hit a tree, smashed the radiator, smashed the hood and bent the fenders, nothing I cant fix in time) and I have a junked 91 talon (bad motor) I want to take the title and the vin off the 91 talon and put it on the 90 eclipse (insurance company totalled my eclipse). I was also going to convert the back end of the eclipse to a talon. Take all the parts that I need off the 91 talon and put it back onto the 90 eclipse.
Like I said I need to no where the vin plate is on the firewall (i no where the one is on the dash and the door panel) so then I can have it restamped with the vin from the 91 talon (if I can even do it). If ANYONE can help me I would appreciate it very much so. Also the sooner the better, I have already started fixing the fenders and the front end.

I no its a crime, but its way easier then removing the motor from the 91 talon, then removing the motor from the 90 eclipse, then putting the 91 motor into the 90 body, I think doing the title would be easier.
And if this is illellage to talk about on this forum Im sorry for doing it, a mod/admin can delete the thread right away.
Im just trying to ask general questions on what would be easier.

Hey he stole that from the old muscle car thieves. Back in the 70s and 80s youd be surprised how often that would happen OR like what hes doing now with the not wanting to mess with all the small components and everything.
Dont do it though. When they check the vin from your talon and its on the eclipse call us from jail.

Thats what Im trying to avoid, how would I do it. If I can even do it. The 90 and 91 eclipse/talons are the same car (both non-turbo) they look the same in every way, (but tail lights and front bumper which I can swap out) If I take the vin off the 91 talon and put it on the 90 eclipse and say that I just bought a 91 talon and I want to get it insured. Would they really no the diff? If I have all the talon parts on the eclipse and the 91 has a clean title (which it does) then they wouldn't no.
Wow, Im breaking like a million laws just talking about this. Lol

man who are we kidding they will never find out if you do it properly. And i think you got the right idea. Even the tailights and shit don't matter cause that stuff is just cosmetic anyways. Basically all that is important is body style (1g) trim (nt) colour (same) and obviously vin. If i were in your situation I'd probably do it too. As for where the hell the vin is on the firewall I don't know?? probably will never matter just make sure when you crash this one you crash it beyond all recognition ;)

I do not like this at all... :disappoin
#1... This is very illegal and they will bust you with a matter of time.
#2... These are matters not to be discussed on Automotive Forums.
#3... Technically, anybody who gives advice on this subject in the matter of 'how to do it' can be charged as an accomplice to the matter.
I do not mind you guys discussing the typical street racing scene or very simple matters that could get you into trouble, but I highly disapprove of matters of this magnitude. This is a major felony if you do attempt this and I will not allow Automotive Forums to be drug into the matter...
Take this subject elsewhere...
