Nice start! The way you drew the fenders and the angles of the wheel ellipses give it an amazingly smooth flow.

Great toon. Cool color effect and amazing detailing of the seats.
What kind of layer underfill did you use to create the metal flake effect?
I don't use Illy so I not sure what I'm looking on the screen capture you
posted for that part.

The metal flake was done in Photoshop.
I made a selection of just the car body and moved it to a new file. I applied the noise filter and then brought it back to my car rendering file and pasted it into a new channel that was brighter than my base color.
Then I went back to my body selection file and I applied a noise filter with much more coarse settings. I copied that into my render file on a channel that was darker than my body color.
I then made sure that those 2 channels were below by body base channel as them being set to 5% builds in an inherent level of transparency.
It's not as complicated as it sounds. The effect is applied in a new file because you cannot apply effects to channels, but you can copy and paste selections all day long.
It's the same thing Jeri did in her tutorial where she was making the edges of the text beveled.
I finally understood it for the first time on this piece.

Thanks for the details--don't think I have a "noise" filter in Expression, but
might be able to get the same effect using a surface texture layer.
Time to get out Jeri's tutorials and do some more practice work.
