2003 Durango, first the hood release handle lets go , and today the parking brake release handle broke. Anyone know if the brake release is a replaceable part, if not to the salvage yard I go.

Ok, $18.00 for a new release door or $1.50 to Shade Tree repair, hmm. I bought a small, threaded eye bolt and drilled a hole in the release handle (this is a flap like device that clips up under the dash and the cable is retained on under side of the flap). Put the eye bolt through the door and secured it with a washer and cap nut. On under side of the flap, I threaded the steel dog leg portion of the release cable through the eye and then I compressed the eye using mondo vise grips to retain the cable. I snapped door back onto the support bar and we are back in business and only you and I can tell it is not a factory fix.
