Ford factory radio and i-pod hook up?

My friend has a 1998 ford explorer and i am wondering if there is any kind of auxilary output any...be it a rca or i-pus or even a wire for a cd changer....i wanted to get him an i pod hook up...any ideas?

If he has a cassette player you can buy the cassettes that will accept a 1/8 jack or buy an FM transmitter that plugs into the I-Pod itself and then he can use it in any vehicle.

Same with me. Cassette doesn't work because tape player keeps ejecting cassette. FM modulater doesn't work well cause too many stations in area. Too much overlap . Does radio have jack in back? Any other ideas on how to connect?

Does your factory deck have the CD changer controls? If so, there is probably an adapter that can be purchased to allow the deck to "think" the iPod is a CD changer. I've never looked into this option though and don't have any specific brands, but have read of others purchasing such adapters for other Ford products.

Other options would be to install an aftermarket deck or build your own line level input and tie it in, via a switch, to the amplifier IC internal to the deck.
