seat belt problem

My sister was driving my grandfather's 94 corolla. She say that she lean forward and heard a ''clank'' coming from the seat belt. Then the belt woundn't return to it original position. Is this fixible or I'll have to buy a new seat belt?

did you get the seatbelt fixed? it probably broke the recoil spring. if that happened look at the junkyards
