This comparison is being taked about so much in my area, I even see it all over the internet. A stock 350Z or a stock s2000. They are very similar in performance and thats what people are talking most about. Any opinions ?

Both very nice cars, which makes this a very tough choice. I think I would go with the S2k though. I think that 350Z's are going to be very common when they come out, whereas, I see very few S2000's around here. Plus it has a 9000 RPM redline, although I wish it had a more traditional tach than the electronic one it has.

honda's said to be releasing a sports coupe called the s2200 that's supposed to go head to head with the 350z and rx-8 within the next couple years. basically the s2000 with more power and minus the convertible top.
i would think the s2000 would take it on a track (not drag strip) due to its lighter weight, it'd be more nimble and agile through the corners. and that's just an assumption so don't dog me for saying that's how it is, coz i'm not implying it. but from experience, the s2000 is an incredible handler. i'm sure the 350z can hold up its own but on a road course, i'll have to say the s2000. that's if you know how to drive the thing. the car's a glorified honda civic unless you know how to keep the needle past 7000rpms. on a drag strip, the 350z may have the advantage, but again that's an assumption. :p
i think these two are already a good matchup, each having advantages over the other. perhaps if nissan could produce a hard top convertible version of the 350z. i saw a 350z up close the other day, and i'll have to say it looks great. definately the head-turner out of the two cars. i'll take the 350z for my daily driver and the s2000 for my sunday topless cruiser.

i wold say the 350z will take the s2000 both on the drag because way more torque. and i bet it handles better. nissan imo makes better sports cars than honda. I mean the skyline is by far the best japanese sports car.

350Z...more power, torque, and utility all at a cheaper MSRP.

Well if you are going to compare the two, you have to understand that one is a roadster, the other is a coupe. Of course the convertible roadster isn't going to have as much room, or cargo space. On the same hand, the coupe doesn't have a convertible top.
350Z and S2000 straightline is a driver's race, bottom line. It is probably easier to get 13's with the 350z, but it is a driver's race, none the less.
Roadcourse, sorry, the S2k still owns the 350z.
No, there is no such thing as the S2200 coupe. That has been debunked a long time ago. there is a magazine that likes to publish tabloid stories and the like and make it look real. However, you can clearly see the photos in the mag were photo-shopped. Even so, Honda has always been so tight lipped about everything it comes out with. You won't see pictures or specs until right before the car comes out. Just like with the new accord. Honda has said, there is no other car coming out that is in relation to the S2000.
