Antifreeze flowing when cold

I have a 1998 Sebring Convertible with the 2.5 V6. After doing an antifreeze change I started it with the radiator cap off. I immediately noticed there is significant coolant flow. In the old days if you saw that, it meant the thermostat was probably stuck open. Is there a bypass around the 'stat in this car that would account for what I saw?
Also, I emptied the system from the radiator drain and only got about 1 gallon out. Is that a way to get more out?
Thanx

There should be a drain in the block,I was to lazy to look for 1 in mine.If it is important for you I guess I could look into it.I am a tech so checking into something on a tech's car is like asking asking a Mickey's Dee's boy to be happy at work, very unlikley. There has to be a drain somewhere in the block.

Twistedtech, thanx for the response. I also was too lazy to look for a block drain and, after 8+ years of not being touched, I'm not sure I wanted to break something trying to get it out.
A couple of Friday's ago it became a moot point as my daughter totalled the car on an icy bridge. She was unhurt. Cars can be replaced. Oh well . . .
