Yanked the old ones out and sure enough, the bags had gone off, were cut out, and the hole filled with foam. Got the new ones back in, but now the air bag light flashes 5 or 6 times and then stays on. Any way to reset the system, or does it have to be done at a dealer?

I'm afraid I my have mislead you in my response to your prior post about the airbags. I have a metro that needs airbags myself and have been told that the collision sensor located in the region of the shifter/center console under the plastic stuff also needs to be replaced. Not sure exactly where this thing is as I haven't dug into it yet. I wont know perhaps until after the holidays. My apologies and goodluck, don't forget to post back!

Turns out theres actually two sensors. One up front by the hood latch and the one under the plastic by the gear shifter. Since i had another metro for parts i replaced both sensors and the airbag light now works like its sposed to.
