a b16 head wont fit in the wrong series of engine.who ever told you it would or gave you the idea didnt know what they were talkin about. a d16 dohc wont fit either cause well it jsut wont. also to make it faster well you could turbo it or do a nitrous set up and well "VTEC" helps but cam it.

I suggest you either search online about this subject or sell your car before you mess it up.

Max gave you the 2 biggest options on it. Turbo or N2O. You can go NA for less cash, but not as much HP as you would get from a turbo.

So do you have a D16 or D15 engine? If you have an A6 then definitely go turbo IMO.

Who says more horsepower is better? :grinno:
As for the OP, the cheapest way for a little more power is a cheap pieced together, smal turbo setup running no more than 6-7 psi. Everyone know's i'm not a fan of boost, nor any dseries motor, but that is truth.

I never said more HP was better, was just saying you can get more out of boost than higher compression. I think you might be able to make a high compression D (freshly rebuilt) for around the same as a pieced together turbo. Just gotta know what parts to get.

It was a joke! Yah, IF you plan on making power from a sohc, boost is your buddy. You'll hit a wall at about 170 whp all motor, which is barely streetable.

you only have one real option.. turbo. go to the HT forced induction page and start reading. you will love what you see, trust me. i already got my STD manifold, T3 turbo, and MPFI swap lined up. check out these websites...

I disagree with that. I think NA is still an option, and done right a cheaper option than a turbo.

Tony..im not sure if you've done ur research on pieced together turbos..but he can seriously easily see 14sec marks with a few hundred dollars..i had a z6 turbo i quickly pieced together for around $500..and not to sound like a typical honda retard cause Lord knows i hate when ppl say this shit but i had no problem going out walking ws6's and and gt stangs.. i think turbo is his best route..sounds like he has no idea what he's doing so just bolting on a turbo might be the best thing for him for now..those lil d15vtecs are badass boosted..im just curious tho..if u had a budget of $500 what would u have done to the motor? im not hatin on N/A in anyway..cause if and when i have my next Honda..boost and NOS is not even an option.

Alright, well I stand corrected. I haven't seen a turbo that cheap yet, ofcourse the ones we have at work we want an arm and leg for and they are OEM turbos.
Well the 2 most expensive parts will be the cam, which from the dealer is $299, no matter what stage you get. You can probably pick them up a little cheaper than that on ebay. But some P29 pistons will get you 11.5:1-12.5:1 C/R depending on what your shooting for, and what headgasket and mill you get. The second most expensive is probably the rebuild kit. I think you will spend more than $500 on it, but you will have a fresh motor too. Not something your gonna have with a turbo motor for that price.
I read about this setup on www.d-series.org in their engine building section. The reason I haven't done much research on turbos as I have N/A is the race car. They know the motor didn't come out factory with a turbo, so no sense trying it.
