i have a 96 yukon, 220000 miles. Yesterday i went to start it and it would crank but would'nt start. It started when starter fluid was sprayed into the air intake, but would die soon after. when i turned the key the fuel pump would not kick on so I replaced the fuel pump. The new fuel pump wont kick on either, so i replaced the fuel pump relay, and still no start. any ideas????

Look for a burnt or bad connector at the tank connector,. fuse is good of course.? Ecm b 20a fuse. Power at the gy wire to the pump and a good gd.?

We had the same problem, after replacing the fuel pump, battery, plugs and wires we finally broke down and replaced the battery cables. WOW what a difference. It was really hit and miss on weather or not the car would start. The cables were bad but still gave the truck enough power to use the windows and radio but did not start. New cables and all fixed. We replaced them ourselves but we were told by a mechanic friend that it was best to buy the OEM parts. Hope this helps!

My fiance was having two problems the other one was related directly to the fuel pump relay. So my above advise is only if it clicks almost like a dead battery. If you are having a problem were it sounds like it is going to start but just isn't getting the fuel then you are having the same problem we are currently having. Let us know if you find out what the exact problem is. We already replaced the fuel filter and pump and have 8 (yes 8) fuel pump relays that we rotate through it seems to work but sometime the truck dies while we are driving down the road.
