This is about to make me a little more nuts than I am already.
Found quick connect fiiting just under thermo housing had corroded and broke off. Repair would be easy (only a $12 part and a few minutes) if it weren't for the part of the fitting that is still inside the manifold. Tried exraction tools to no avail. COncerned that I might screw up the threads in the manifold if I'm not careful.
Anywone with experience with this issue? (Chev dealer says it happens "all the time" on this model) Ideas as to how to get this repaired? Hate to have to remove the manifold for this lousy fitting.
Thanks!
JM

take a broken hack saw blade with a piece of rubber hose over one end as a makeshift handle, and CAREFULLY cut a two grooves close together in the broken piece that's still in the manifold. Then use a chisel to knock out the small piece between the gooves you cut. Then you should be able to knock the rest out by either turning it with the chisel or by chipping away at it. Use a 1/2 NPT pipe thread tap to clean up the threads in the intake if you accidentally damage any.
