my daughter was on the service road yesterday as she wanted to accelerate. The check engine light started flashing and the car could not accelerate. She had to move to a drive way, stopped the car for a short period of time then restarted it. It then worked that fine after that.

She told me that the thing started happening a few months ago and the occurancies seemed to get more often. A guy at the Autozone store suggested that the fuel filter might needs replacing.

Could he be right about that?

Thanks for your comments.

Fuel filter is a possibility.
Next time you are there at the store ask them to get the code from the computer to find out why the light was flashing and you will know a lot more about what is happening.

the light stopped flashing after a minute or so. We could never get the code.

Have you tried to get the code? There may be one in there. Not all codes make the light flash.

I had the fuel filter replaced and the problem went away.
