Folding Back Seat

The other day I wanted to put a long box through the trunk (95 sedan), when I pulled the release knobs upward to have the back seat fold down, one of the knobs came off in my hand. The seat back is now locked in the normal sitting position.
Any tips or ideas on how to get the seat to fold down or on reattaching the knob and get it working again?

try screwing knob back on or push down on seat back top and grab rod with pair of pliers and pull up
