Opening gas tank door

Hello, I can't get the door to open. It was working okay but now when I pull the little lever. I hear a noise but nothing happens. I don't want to pry it open and break something. Is there any solution?:banghead: The van is a 1993 XL

I solved the gas tank door problem. I did pry the door enough to get a screwdriver in and release the lock arm. Some how the cable got disconnected from the lock arm.Reconnected arm and cable and we're back in action

There is an emergency door release cable located inside of the jack compartment in case you didnt know.
