AOD wiring

Just came acrossed a AOD trani and want to throw it in my 67 mustang, have a few questions have everything figured out on how to make it fit, and flywheel changes and all that, but my one problem is how do I wire it up, I have the wiring harness and everything just not sure where the wires get connected to or if I have to terminate them somehow seeing there is no computer module. Any help would be gratefull thanks.

Is it a AODE or an AOD? AODE is a fully electronic trans.

An AOD wiring is composed of the back up light and saftey switch, but you can bypass them and everything will work. I can't remember how many wires were involved, but I believe 2 were for the saftey switch and 1 for the back up light.

Hmm not quite sure how do I tell, if it is not an AODE then do you know how I can bypass the whole thing. It has a small wiring harness coming off the trani consisting of 4 wires, if that helps at all. Thanks

Sounds like you have a non computer AOD.
Simply plutg in that 4 prong switch into the trans, hook up 2 to your neutral safety switch & turn the key until it won;t turn over & you;ve found the 2 wires you need, just tape the other 2 together.
I think its the brown/black ones.
The critical part of running an AOD is the TV cable
Unlike a C-4 trans the AOD works on pressure & throttle position to shift.
Run it without your TV cable hooked up & you WILL burn it out in under 100 miles
The TV cable runs from the trans to you carb or EFI whatever your running, adjustment is critical.
