92 caravan headlight assembly

Can someone tell me how to remove the headlight assembly's because i wanted to try and clean them up they are all foggy and it looks like they are dirty on the inside?

Most likely you have crud accumulated on the outside. Buy a sheet of 800/1000/1500/2000/2500 grit wet-dry sand paper (the black stuff. Buy a bottle of plastic polish (I use Meguires Plastix). Get a bucket full of water and soak all sheets of paper in the bucket. wash the headlight lens (one at a time) and while the lens is wet start sanding (horiziontally) with 800 grit until the crud stops coming off, then switch to 1000 and keep going to higher number until you have used the 2000 grit. Remeber to keep the paper wet and the lens wet as you work. after you have finished sanding, dry the lens and apply the plastic cleaner (any direction) and then wipe lens clean (you can now see if any more sanding is necessary and if so use 1500 or 200 grit to finalize the work. i use this procedure on my 1996 Caravan and the lenses look like new.

Thanks for the idea i will try that tommorow but how do i apply the plastix do i mix it with the water or do i apply it to the sandpaper or the headlight? is there an possibility that the inside is dirty or is it completely sealed because to mee it looks like there is crud and condensation on the inside? I have a grand caravan and i have regular plastic lenses they are not glass sealed beams?

Plastix (sp) is a cream just like a liquid car wax no mixing required. Before you take the headlights out, try and sand/polish them. The lenses are sealed plastic (but not sealed beam) just like my '96 so no dirt should be inside. On my '96 it looks like vent tubes are attached at the top to prevent condensation and I have drilled small holes at bottom of the sealed assembly to allow water to drain out (not on my '96 but on my Grandson's '99 Grand Marquis) i am not suggesting this to you but it is one option. Once the lenses are clear you can plastic polish them any time they look like they are starting to regreds and they will come back like new ( I do it tom my '96 and also my '98 NEON, and my Grandson's 2001 Hyundai Elantra). Keep in touch and let us know how things work out. Oh, you can buy kits to do what I suggest but they are just what I am telling you to do and a lot more expensive.
