 Someone gave me advice to install a high stall torque converter if I plan to do performance installs to my car. I would like if someone would explain to me in the most detailed way what exactly it does, and how I would utilize it.

basically it is just a performance version, or a more effective version of what you already have.

can installing too high an rpm converter affect drivability? Is it harder on your trans? I understand that dropping an auto trans from N to D is very bad, but does it basically do the same thing as a high stall converter? I have a manual, but am a little curious if the only thing a high stall does is allow you to launch ata higher RPM when you are in drive. For the benefit of this post, please put some notes as to how high an rpm converter to get (if there are choices).

how to make your trans shift faster:

and a more absolute answer on making an auto trans faster:

but i'm not finding much on which one to use, because probably, that most people dont' break 400whp on the 3g eclipse, so there is really only stage 1 and 2 setups.
