rear strut

okay i really think something is wrong with my lumina's rear struts. when i am driving and i go over a bump, the back end goes up and down and when it comes down there is a big thud. almost like the strut is bouncing too far. so i opened the trunk to check it and the left strut is sticking right into the trunk and hitting the roof of the trunk next to the hinge. i think it broke the mount or something. i am going to get new struts, nut would i also need another strut mount too? thanks for any help.

Yup mount is broken.

okay thanks for letting me know. i will have to get two new rear struts and a new mount.

I agree. When one bites the dust, the other often follows. I found that out the hard way. Replaced a strut, then less than a month later, I hit a large pothole and ....thud thud thud thud thud :(.....had to replace the other
