Alright, not counting the cheesy Pokemon, Digimon, or any other kiddie shows of anime (which I heard are semi-good uncut) do you like it or not?

Anime is the best thing to come from Japan and the art and story line is what makes it so great!

So, if you do watch/collect/read/whatever anime, what's your fav and what do you like about? I know some people just totally hate it, but their are those true fans of it's artistic abilities and plotlines.

Gundam Wing freaking rocks. Hands down the best of all of those. There is so much politics and theory in that movie. I love that series. I also like:

Zoids
Yu Yu Hakusho
Dragon Ball
Initial D
Wangan Midnight
Rurouni Kenshin*
Trigun*
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Outlaw Star

* = freaking awesome!

Akira was the possibly the magnum opus of the anime manga genre when it was completed in 1988. And I surprised none of you seem to recognise it...

If someone has then I'd interested in hearing what you thought of it.

For further details click here

Well I should have expected Ci5ic to own it!

If we're talking about earlier stuff from Japan - what about G-Force from Battle of the Planets?

Or Speed Racer... go speed racer, go speed racer go... hang on a sec.

Now I have stuck in My Saturday Morning Cartoon's Greatest Hits CD so I can listen to... Speed Racer Theme being played by Sponge!!! And Hong Kong Phooey by Sublime...

Nope, I passed that milestone a couple of years ago (well at least I think I do - something to do with a large amount of ethanol taken orally over a short time period.)

BTW you have a job very similar to the one I have or had until this afternoon.

Have a good one when you do get there and remember that it's good time to get those 10 year vaccination boosters (that way you just remember to get them done every birthday with a 0 in them) ie tetanus, polio and hep (I travel and in the outdoors a lot).

I used to watch Voltron all the time until I moved, then moved again and lost which station it came on.

It sucks that America has all these show edited, except Toonami late nights on Saturdays.

G-Force, I think I remember that. What I can't think of are those space jets that turned into robots and the carrier was one giant robot! It's really annoying me that I can't think of it!

The reason I lefted out Initial D was due the fact I was concentrating on the show above and I ran out of room. :(

In fact, there shall be a new AF crew: The AF Gatchamaniac crew, and I shall be member # 1 :D

Gundam Wing is no doubt the best of the Gundams! Maybe an Anime Crew would be better and more broad? I never heard of the show you mentioned Moon.

The models aren't as hard as they say though, but they still look really

Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman = Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Gatchaman was originally used to refer just to Ken (aka Mark) the commander, but later came to be used to refer to the team as a whole.

So, we are Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman. http://forums.skylinesdownunder.com/images/smilies/karate.gif

I thought Outlaw Star was a cool show.. it was different.

Gundam kicked ass.

Dragon Ball Z.. its cool but they draw the story out too long in some cases. Any of the saga's took 12 too many episodes. I mean whole episodes were wasted watching a guy change from one form to another.

What was that show they had on Cartoon Network... it was about a Submarine... like Blue Submarine #6 or something? That was a sweet mini-series.. great animation. Weird story though haha.

All the Anime I watch is uncut and straight from Japan, not this American crap on Cartoon Network.

I watch:

Initial D
Riding Bean
Dragonball Z
Dragonball
Silor Moon
Akira
Ghost In The Shell
Evangelion
Macross
Patlabor

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Well transforms and a lot of heavey breathing and squinting. That is my one beef with DBZ. As for that show on CN, it was Blue Sub #6. It was interesting. I miss Thundercats though. Hmm, that gives me an idea for a new thread.
