so I'll start with the temp issue. Car runs great, and when on the highway or driving it is at just over 90 degrees on the guage (metric) and pretty much holds there. When you stop and the car sits at idle it goes up a few notches... what is the issue here? is it a problem? what can I do to fix it?
also.. the ac makes a loud squeeling or whining noise. When I hit the ac button it goes away and it sounds like the blower is on. What are the problems here and how can I fix it. The squeel is really annoying!
thx

My `00 2.2l did that last year ,idled for 5 or 10 mins fan kicked in ,temp was up .heard some crazy noises from under hood ,opened it up and it was puking out of coolant res. went home refilled with dex-cool . Has been ok ever since . If your fluid level is ok and it does not over heat ,I would just keep an eye on it and not worry . But who knows maybe I got lucky ...........LOL. AC compressor could be packing up if that is where noise is coming from, just get a belt at crappy tire for a non air conditioned car. change or repair compressor in spring when things start to heat up in Hogtown

The rattleing from the Ac is your compressor clutch. Seems to be quite common thing to be going on these cars. Mine went but it was covered under warrenty. As for the heating, being this time of year something may be up with your coolant systems. If this were summer and it was hot out, i'd say that would be perfectly normal. Mine in dead stop traffic runs really warm and hovers with the fan always kicking on. Might want to do a coolant flush and throw a new thermostat in.
