96 mercury cougar

cougar won't start, not the battery , could be the starter if i could find it. does nothing when i try to turn it over any suggestions? ty:banghead:

You tested the battery?

Follow the positive battery cable to the location of the starter.
Are you hearing any clicks?
Have you checked the battery connections to make sure they are clean and secure? Check both ends of each battery cable.
Is the ignition switch good?
