i would like to find out wat is the original HP for a chevy cavalier, i have a 1999 chevy cavaliler z24.?

does any one know.?

if i remember correctly it is 150...but i could be wrong

what kind of intake? cuz most cai bring in about 10-15 hp

its an eam intake i told the people that i bought it from that i wanted a cold air intake but i think its a regular intake, ur can go to my car domain and check it out

thats basicly what i have but mine has a rubber tube instead of metal, and that is definatly not a cold air intake. if it was it would go down in the engine bay to behind the bumper so it could get the cold air from out side of the car instaed of sucking up the warm air under the hood.

and i think that adds about 10hp compaired to the POS stock intake box

more like 5hp.

yeah, 10 is like the max you can get out of a wai if your lucky

i alwayz read that you get 5-8 HP from intakes.

so in other words i only got 5 extra hp

Thats probably the most wire loom i have seen in a cavalier yet....

Yeah, you won't be getting more then 10hp at the most out of an intake....unless there's a turbo or supercharger somewhere in there too.

i would highly doubt you're going to see any more than 5hp with any sort of intake...people tend to over estimate the power gains that simple bolt on parts give you......

That is incorrect. Dont listen to what the manufacturer says. You can get UP TO 15hp. If you have all the rest of the supporting mods, like the car they did a test on did.

Ya and most cars tested with intakes would probally have n exhaust system too to let the air flow in and out better

and really your car dosen't have 150hp becuase thats only to the crank and then u add in that your car's allmost 10 years old so engine wear and your making even less hp
