Alright, well this has been happening for about 2 weeks now, the heater works great, and the fan was working fine up until recently, now its a gamble, sometimes the fan works, sometimes it doesnt, all the speeds work fine when its working, sometimes when I start the car it works, sometimes it doesnt, usually though after about an hour of driving it starts working, but its really pissing me off, I dont like it when I have to flip a coin to see if im going to be cold as shit or warm, I live in canada by the way and its that time of year
can anybody point me in the right direction or possible know whats going on
thanks in advance

Hi there,
Next time the blower motor does not work, tap the blower motor, located under the passenger glovebox, and if it starts working, replace the blower motor.
Good Luck.

Engine temp has nothing to do with the blower fan working or not working.
I'd go along with what pcv said, it's also possible you have a bad ground or power wire on the connector to either the fan or the switch. tapping either the fan or the switch should prove that out.
Another well known problem with these cars is the blower motor resistor. What happens is the resistor wears out and you only have the highest speed on the fan, no low or medium speed. You can do a search on this forum to find many posts related to it.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies
I dont think its the resistor if that stops the fan from working on high/low speeds, the fan works fine, all speeds fine, when its working, I had thought maybe a short or a ground, something, thanks the tips to find where the blower fan is located, ill tap that bitch next time she acts up
As for warming up the car, I let it run for a few minutes always if shes cold, longer if it was a fridgid night but that has nothing to do with it, I think, considering sometimes the fan works as soon as the car starts, cold as fawk, and sometimes it doesnt
I'll let you guys know how it goes, thanks a lot again

Hey guys, well since I hit the blower motor with the hammer and it started working again it hasnt stopped working, so I dont see any reason to replace it at the moment, though it wasnt much im sure, thanks for the pointer, its nice to have heat up here
I know maybe I should start another thread for this question but ill put it here anyway, see what I get, my car has been vibrating in park and as it starts to take off in drive, neutral is fine, I saw a thread about cleaning the IAS and throttle body, im gonna give that a try, do a fuel flush etc, let you guys know how that goes, if anyone has any other suggestions about that problem I would apperciate hearing them
thanks again

lol, i guess the american way of fixing things realy does work
you should hit the throttle body with a hammer and get back to us on how that works
but glad to hear your heat is back cuz i personaly cant stand being cold
