99 Malibu won't start

Hello
I've got a 99 Malibu with a 3.1L V6.
The car was running good and after I came out of the store it wouldn't start. It doesn't crank over or anything.
I can start it with a screwdriver at the starter. I've checked the fuses and switched them around, but still nothing.
Is there a relay or something else I can try. I don't want to change out the ignition.
It's an extremely expensive and difficult job, I'll do that only as the last resort.
How can I tell if this car has a pass-key or anti-theft system malfunctioning.
Thanks in advance.

Check your owners manual if you have one. check all the underhood fuses and relays in the underhood compartment [drivers side by the firewall] there is a iterrior fuse compartment located at the drivers-side dash [you need to open the drivers door to see it] sounds like the starter solenoid to me.

The word "antitheft" will be flashing w the key in the on position if activated. serch the malibu forum to learn how to reset "antitheft" or call chevy service dept.

Thanks to all of you.
It turned out to be the neutral safety switch in the center console.
I guess I spilled something on it. I took me 4 hours to figure that out and get the car running again.
