Since the Euro forum is a bit slow these days I thought I post some pics of my recent mods :)

You can't really see it on the pics but I also had my seats 'redone'.
partly new cloth on both seats and some filling of the sides, looks new again :)

What do you think?

He Bracer, I agree that the Euro Forum is a bit slow lately
But everybody must have there reasons :D

For your mods, I must say that its looking good, but your car was looking good
without the mods anyway ;)

Do you feel any difference in driving with your rear strutbrace???
I always wonder about that

O yeah, I had a question for you about your seats.
The VTi seats have that "stripe" design right??
Do other type's of Civic have that to??
Cause I say a 1.5 Civic recently at TCC with interior just like that
I think that he just had some VTi interior installed.

O BTW, you guys might think "What did he do at TCC???"
Well AccordCE8 had a new exhaust installed, its a HKS style
I made pics, but I have to get them developed, but they look great on his Accord
and its also sounds super, its one of those exhausts with a silencer which you can take out for more sound

I'll post pics A.S.A.P.

Well in normal driving no, but when you are pushing it it feels a bit firmer in corners, and it looks

As far as I know only the VT has the red stripe design. The 1.5 has different shaped seats originally. Like you said, they must have swapped interiors.

I had the film to get developed today, and they will be ready on tuesday
then I will scan A.S.A.P.

I had 10 photos left but I went to the Hellendoorn rally today which is being held
close to my home, so I saw some WRC Impreza's and Lancers today

like all others already said...looks really good!
One question: how have you done the 'finishing touch' of the rear strut brace (where the srutbrace attaches to the struts)... it looks real good, did you cut the plastic yourself or do those holes belong there??

I didn't cut the plastic myself, there are 2 plastic 'caps' that can be removed so that you can reach the strut bolts. When you take that cap of there's this rubber 'thingie' that sits on top of the strut. I removed the plastic cap, removed the rubber thing, attached the strut and put the rubber thing back. Real easy, like it was designed to have a rear strut :)

hehe that doesn't really matter to us how your car looks like :D
If its a Honda its OK to post pics, and if you post pics now when its a 4x4 then we'll be able
to really see the difference of before and after the springs ;)

ahhh... the civic was designed very well then :D

I'm thinking of putting a strutbrace at the rear too, but then I have to cut holes myself... it can be done offcourse...
first I have to put in my new oil pressure and oil temperature gauges :)

Nice car revs. I like the rims on your car.

I'm a little confused. You said your car was a '99, but you still got the '96-'98 bumpers on your car... or was your car one of the last with those bumpers?

BTW: is that a 1.4i?

revs
09-25-2002, 05:25 AM
yep its a 99, only got the car second hand last april. So those bumpers are the 96-98 model? that makes me confused now because in the near future i want to order a front lip spoiler, does that mean i have to get one for a 96-98 civic? that means the 99-00 bumpers had the three vents right? oh yes my car is a 1.4i

Goosse
09-25-2002, 05:32 AM
If you order a front lip, you should order the '96-'98 one. Strange that you still got those bumpers. Your car will be one of the last produced ones with those bumpers...

I think you already know the difference but just to be save

hi thanx for the help! i was just lookin around the netand i think my head headlights are of the 96-99 variety! (lookin at the pics), which means it isn't the 99 model! (although when my dad bought it at the dealership they said it was a 99 and it is an "s" reg). So i guess the years' reg plate doesn't mean its the same year as the cars model? (insert duh! if required!). Is there anywhere on the car where i can check the cars info? Sorry if i sound like such a newbie but i'm new to hondas and i only started modifying last month! heres a pic of my car from the front.

sorry, i meant my headlights are of the 96-98 variety. They are as sleek and don't have loads of chrone with those new style indicators. thanx for any input!

You have a before '99 model from look. You can also see it at the back bumper. If you have got black protection strips on the bumper, it's a '96-'98. Also, if your stock tail lights still have an orange part in it, this is also a prove that's '96-'98 model. The interieur is also different.

This doesn't mean your car isn't a '99. It could be your car is produced in '98, but came to the dealer in '99. I can't really explain in in English, but somethimes there's a little delay between the real production date of the car and the year that's given by the dealers...

But if you order parts for your car, always say that's a '98. Expecialy when you order something for the front end of your car (lip, headlight, hood,....). The shape of the rear bumper is the same so a rear lip for a '98 fits a '99, same with the mirrors, wheels, wings...

little more info on the facelift:
difference between the '98 and '99:
-complete new front end, different hood, fenders, headlights, bumpers... If you see the 2 model years next to each other it's real easy to spot the differences. The '99 model headlight are more 'straight' at the side.
-little bit of differences at the rear. '99 bumpers without the black protection strips, rear lights red clear ('98 still has the orange in it)
-diferent interieur (seats, center console, pattern of the seats..)

BTW: after looking at the car, you definately have a after '97 model. The '96 had a color coded front grille. You have got a chrome surounding around it, so '97 or '98 (or '99???)

thanx goosse! u really helped me out alot. Its a good thing i know this now rather than making an expensive purchase eg lights or hood and then finding out it doesn't fit!

Hi,

You can also see the VIN of your car and over there it will say the production year :D.

Anyway, It's Honda, so keep it up :D

where is the vin located? btw my exhaust is made by a company called dpmotorsport, and its damn loud!

Nice! It looks just like my '96, in Norway, for instance, my car was "first time registered" in '96 so it's a '96! But then again, that's the "first time registration" where they approve all the cars of that brand/type.

Btw: are those BK Racing rims? How much did you pay in England with rubber? I actually considered taking the ferry on vacation, and buying rims on the trip, and still have money left for beer :p

Did you notice any differents in acceleration/top speed/handling with 17" rims? Everybody says 17" will slower the car up alot...but hey, it's a 1.4i, how much slower can it be? :D (mine's a 1.4i to)

revs
11-11-2002, 08:04 AM
Yes, those are BK racing rims, i paid about £720 including fitting last June. I haven't noticed the car being any slower, but then again its slow anyway!

I also have the 1.4 and IMO it isn't that slow (for a 1.4l). If you put the Honda next to a 1.4l Golf, Vauxhall, or anything else, the Civic is going to win:D

riceviking
11-12-2002, 06:48 AM
Of course it is, it's a Civic! :D

That's soooo unfair, I have to pay at least 1000 £ for the same setup!! Money left for lots of beer then... :)
