HKS Exhuast & Tein Lowering Springs + Sunroof Questions

Has anybody had any experience with the HKS Catback Exhaust system? I am so intrigued by it because it retains the stock dual tip exhaust tips. I am worried that if might sound like crap though. They went on sale in the Stillen catalogue and I was really tempted to buy one, but I wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with one and if they can tell me how they liked it or whatever. I have always been a fan of the Borla exhaust as well, but I would like to retain my stock tips, I dunno if that is at all possible though. When I start to modify my car, does the exhaust even really make that big of a difference, or is the one that come stock on my 98 VR4 good enough if I incorporate a good downpipe like dynamic racing's or 3sx's? I was also wondering if replacing my stock exhaust manifolds with some of dynamic racings polished headers would make a difference? Or is that more of a Cosmetic thing? Would it even pass smog with those here in California?

Also, I have pretty interested in lowering my car and getting better performing springs. The ones that caught my eye were the Tein springs that lowered the car 0.7 inches in the front and 0.5 in the rear. But everywhere I have looked says that I can't use these springs with the year car I have because of my electric sunroof. Is that because my sunroof may become unseated from its track or soemthing due to a harsher ride? I guess if that is the case, and I can't get lowering springs, what would you guys reccomend as far as coilovers go? I was debating between either the K-Sport GT coilvers or the ones made by tein? Would I find better perfromance out of one over the other? The fact that teins can be remotely dampened via the in car control system sounds pretty intriguing though as well.

Sorry for all the questions, I have strayed away from the 3000gt's for a number of years now, and now I'm trying to get back into the groove of things. So consider me a noob in some respects. From now on, you guys will probably see me around here often, so I hope you don't find me too annoying.

please read the FAQ and do some searches. All of these topics have been covered many times.

I'd suggest high flow cat+ any major DP(3SX, DR, etc) and the exhaust of your choice. My personal favorite at the moment is the new DR exhaust because it sounds, simply put, like sex on wheels. Also, I'd check out the JIC Twin Spartan exhaust and the Tanabe hyper blue medallion whatever exhaust.

I did some searchs for the HKS Catback exhuast before I posted this, but I just couldn't find anything about it. Maybe I was searching with a wrong criteria or something, but I couldn't get anything useful on it. I have seen DR's exhaust, but I haven't had the chance to hear it. Could you point me in the direction of a sound clip for it or soemthing? Was it their 3" one? I haven't seen one of JIC's, the only two I have actually heard is the Borla and the Tanabe. I do like the rumbe of the Borla, but I dunno if I like the whiney sorta raspy sound of the tanabe at high end, or maybe that could have just be the quality of their sound clip.... I think I'm having a lot of trouble trying to find actual like reviews of how people liked their K-sport coilovers. People have been saying good things about teins though. I guess when I was searching through the FAQ, but I couldn't really find answers to some of the specific questions I've had, I guess I'll try again tonight. thanks for the help so far though.

Wow... I'm an idiot.....the exhaust question was answered in thef irst part of the damn FAQ..... I guess I'm either just that blind or that stupid......maybe a combination of both.
