My suggestion is buy a new one. I know its big bucks.

But when I had to lower/re-install a gas tank on a '93 (pump replacement) I never expected to have problems re-installing the fill tube assembly. I wrestle the thing until my fingers were bruised. I tried to replace the hoses on the assembly ... that did no good.

When I finally gave up and bought the new assembly, the thing went right in place ... no problem.
