I have a 97 DOHC and a 95 SOHC neons. Can i take the engine out of the 97 and put it in the 95 sohc?? Or can i take the tranny out of the 95 sohc and put it in the 97 dohc.
Which would be the easiest and not expensive. What would i need to do it?
Please help i am wanting to get rid of them.

Yes they will interchange. You will need to use some sensors from dohc old motor and get a ecu from a 95 dohc. Pretty sure on these not 100% Tranny should swap to any 1st gen

If we are talking automatic transmissions, no problem. If, however, you are taking the DOHC engine with manual transmission, and mating it to the SOHC manual transmission then the transmission will work but you will be using a taller final drive ratio (355:1) versus the 3.94:1 ratio used with the DOHC engines (a little slower acceleration).
