I'm going to boot camp & ati traing but will be back home in Jan. 2004. I will be able to afford a $35000 car then but I'm stuck between a 350z, RX-8, & S2000. They are all so different but all still sports cars. Whats best for a 19 year old? Other sports cars could be possibilities also.

S2000. played out. super minimalist sports car. no nothing in the interior. extremely bland with some awkward design.
RX-8. rotary engine has not been proven to be completely reliable yet. even thought this version of hte 13b is n/a it should last much longer then the 13b from last gens FD3S. but its a 4 seater. but its still slick.
350z. strong engine. has the most hp and by far the most TORQUE out of the 3. it seems more of a beginner friendly car. csaue it doens't take a genius to launch a car with soo much torque as opposed to the S2000. the interior is equally sleek to the RX-8. has alot of nice details to it. and it looks totally slick
if it was up to me. i would get the 350z cause i want one myself. but given my budget. i'll be happy with my S14 cusae by that time, i'll have a SR20DET sitting in my engine bay.

ahhh i see the magic keyword. other sport cars possibilites. now you can either get a used R32 Skyline GT-R for around 30 to 40 grand. its a GT-R need i say more?or you can get a nice mitsubishi evo 7. which will blow your first 3 choice of cars out of hte water. how does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12.9 sound? and the awesome activity differential to play with. and its awesome AWD. or you can get a nice scooby. the WRX STi. a more refine car then the evo. but not nearly as fast.

I agree w/the other options...but a few notes that TatII missed...
the R32 GTR is around 30-32k
WRX STi is not that slow...it will keep up...but slightly lose
Evo VII 0-60 is 4.8 not 4.3 (big diff!)

i would've sworn that i've seen it at 4.3 seconds on road and track. or car and driver. but in real life from owners and what Tiff Needle from Top Gear says. 0-60 comes in about 4 and half seconds. and the starting price of the R32 is 30K but it can go up to as high as 40K for a near mint R32. it all depends on conditions.

out of those 3 I'd go with the 350Z or S2000. Maybe you could get a used M3 or a 330ci or xi.
