Car will not start

:banghead: I have a 95 Contour that will not start. I replaced the starter because it would not start on cold mornings without multiple attempts. Now it will not start again. Now it tries to start, then the engine begins to sound like the starter is just turning. If I let it sit for a while it will turn the engine but goes back to spinning again. Also, the speedometer goes all the way to the 100s while trying to start it.

What motor do you have? Have you checked the timing belt?

I have the 4 cycl engine
