man practice ,practice, practice we all have to start somewhere,im still learning things everyday and trying to get better ,ive saved all my early stuff and if you see how much ive improved over YEARS not days lolits amazing ,concentrate on proportions and elipses keep tracing as it will help with those 2 things but also start freehanding ,dont worry if it looks bad at first just keep at it :grinyes: heres some lowrider art ive done enjoy :

exactly!
dont trace, it might help you get a quick "good" result, but you wont learn anything at all. Get some drawing books ( not necessary car drawing books ), and practice on still life (no photos) simple objects to understand the perspective. It takes time, but will help a lot. And you WILL learn something useful.

I actually think tracing is a good idea, but, I suggest tracing other drawings, there much easier to see. I actually started by tracing, the nthe lines of a car just got stuck in my head. and here are some of my lolo's

if drawing doesnt come naturally to a person i think tracing will help he/she to a POINT ,obviously freehanding is the best way but until he gets confident enough let him trace,if anything trace the outline of the car only and freehand the rest until hes able to do it all freehand, alex and mycorollas use a grid ive got nothing against that method either their results speak for themselves :)

I agree with most people about the tracing idea but I would def. go and get some books from the library and just start from the very basics and work your way up to the hard stuff. It is all about having pastiance and not rushing yourself on your srawings if you can't get it exactly how you want it.
